Sherpas members Tom Prasada-Rao, Michael Lille and Tom Kimmel have long been praised as gifted writers and musicians, and they’ve earned a raft of individual accolades and awards. Collectively, they blend in a distinct alchemy that shines diamond-bright and grooves like nobody’s business.

The trio met in Texas in 1993 at the Kerrville Folk Festival, and they immediately recognized each other as musical brothers. On a tour thrown together as songwriters the following year audiences demanded more, and the trio was born. Songs were written, touring as the The Sherpas ensued, and finally the stellar “Honor Among Thieves” album was released in 2003.

Performances through the years have been consistently greeted with great enthusiasm as Tom, Michael & Tom crossed musical paths between stretches of solo work. But shortly before the pandemic a long-time friend and fan offered room and board to encourage them to write and record a new project. The result: “Promise to Harry,” released on the 30th anniversary of their meeting and the 20th anniversary of their first recording.
