I’ve participated in several meditation retreats at the Siddha Yoga ashram in New York state, and this arrangement was inspired by one of the beautiful and mesmerizing ragas I heard played and chanted there.

The Collect for Purity is from the Book of Common Prayer and is one of the many beautiful prayer/poems in the Liturgy.

Thank you to Gurumayi and the Swamis at Shree Muktananda Ashram.

Lyrics

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy Name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen

Almighty God, to whom all hearts are open
All desires known and no secrets are hid
Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts
By the inspiration
Of Thy Holy Spirit
So we’ll perfectly love Thee
And worthily magnify Thy Holy Name
Through Christ our Lord

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name
Thy Kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom
The power and glory
Forever and ever
Amen
