From the recording Saving It Up for Winter
This recording is a vocal/guitar work tape of a song I wrote in Sweden last year with Norwegian artist Monzie Blue. She wanted me to sketch it out so she could teach it her band (and record a full version herself).
Lyrics
Saving It Up for Winter
Well it’s summertime
And we can't get enough of this heat
You look so fine
And I love how you move to the beat
We're dancing so close, now you're under my skin
And I try to resist, but you’re drawing me in
See we know all too well how the summer could end
So I’m saving it up for winter
Now when autumn comes
And the wind has its way with the trees
And summer’s on the run
Well I pray you are still close to me
And maybe you will, I'm afraid that you won't
But that won't be making me leave you alone
Cause your kind of love, I can feel in my bones
And I’m saving it up for winter
So what if I’m dreaming a dream
Maybe only a dream can come true
And what if that’s all any lover-can-do
We’re here for a minute, we’re here for a day
Who cares about time when it gets in the way?
So when winter's here
I won’t be afraid of the freeze
Cause you'll be so near
One way or the other with me
One way or the other just do what you will
I won’t even care cause I won’t feel the chill
The fire you lit will be smoldering still
Cause I’m saving it up for winter
